How much is Enough? Like in old times, the kitchen becomes the core of the house for its inhabitants, where each one can really experience his thoughts, fears, and feelings through the others'.
Could a discourse develop faster, if everyone was to be more critical and conscious in defining his and others’ limits? What about initiating this mechanism with the mutual involvement of preparing and eating pasta together? And what if this was considered a performance?
The pace of the performance is defined by the cooking.
The amount of time necessary to make pasta, and the nourishing aspect of the act itself, seem to us perfect tools to create a community, based on confrontation: in a discussion no one is right, and everyone’s perspective is necessary.
Throughout its duration, How much is Enough? questions any given statement and develops an agreement that is being perpetually shaped, in a continuous research, involving the community of artists and audience.

If a Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep or Tango is your thing, then a new weekly program designed to quickly teach you the basics is starting this Saturday in Leidseplein. From 6pm-7pm come along to Studio Korte Leidse for a beginners’ class that will show you just how easy it can be. No previous dancing experience is required, as our expert instructor will demonstrate how the quickest way to learn is to have fun doing it.
If you prefer something that's going to get your hips moving, then the Latin workshop starting straight afterwards will soon have you knowing your Samba from your Rumba.
All ages and ability levels are welcome, and classes take place in a fun, friendly atmosphere where the emphasis is on enjoying yourself. You don’t even need a partner, so there’s no excuse to finally start using those two left feet for something other than standing on!

In Yonder Green Glen, we fall in with a troupe of travelling Commedia del Arte actors. They are from today but their high style and low humour are from the sixteenth century. The story line is the same as it as been for over 500 years. Rich old men plot to lure young Ladies into their bed chambers. Poor young men do exactly the same. Actually it seems that love is in the air and has intoxicated all the players. Harlequin and Pierrot duel for the favours of Columbine, whilest Pantaloon, (dirty old man) desires Isabella and his son, Flavio,(handsome young lover) does also. They are all here. El Dottore and his fantastic cures. Dashing El Capitano with his sword. Tough and cynical Brighella falling for Isabella's mother, a woman with a past, planning for the future. Not polite company to journey forth with. As Columbine so charmingly sings:

When we think of Handel, we think of grand, monumental, and magnificent, do we not? Nevertheless, the composer also wrote some smaller compositions. An ensemble of music teachers from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague shows that Handel's chamber music is just as beautiful as his more widely known works. Small is the number of musicians, stunning are their skills. They do not belong to "Les Inventions" and other top baroque orchestras by accidence! They offer you the unique experience to listen to something else than those all-time favourites that are being performed in this Handel year. A trio, a chaconne, a sonata: intimate works that touch strings and souls.
This concert is part of the "Handel year 2009 The Hague". The foundation Handel 2009 organises a year full of varied Handel music and cooperates with the Dr Anton Philipszaal for this specific concert, as well as for the upcoming concert of the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra with Ton Koopman on November 22.
