Podkowa Lesna, also called 'The Garden Town', was originally created in the 1920s, following a typical English village layout, but with single family homes located on large plots, all in an area of mature trees & woodland. The entire town is a conservation area. It is this unique combination of closeness to nature, safety, and easy connection with Warsaw via road or the highly efficient Fast Tram network, that has made Podkowa Lesna the first choice of location for business people, government officials, artists and others that need to be in Warsaw regularly, but value living in an established, peaceful location among trees & nature. A side benefit of this is that English is readily spoken, a great help for new arrivals to Poland.
