Description: The MANILA Bistro Sulemaniyah, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

PROFILE

The bamboo motif on the façade gives it away. It’s a restaurant that offers food with both Filipino and Asian twists, in a cool setting and warm reception that remind you of Filipino and Asian hospitality at its best.

Welcome to the newest Asian cuisine restaurant – The Manila Bistro – for best food, best friends and best times!

INSPIRATION
The Manila Bistro was borne out of an OFW’s dream to combine his love of food with his heretofore untested business sense, coupled with a desire to embark on a business venture that will be of service to his countrymen.

That dreamer was Totoy (FTR) of Manila . Along with friends as investors (including Ms. Natalie Hartley of Jaro, Iloilo ) and a Saudi sponsor (Khalid Ali Al Alola), he put up The Manila Bistro against many odds but without losing sight of his dual sense of purpose. In fact, referring to the restaurant as a bistro stemmed from the same purpose of wanting to provide a dining venue that speaks of a convivial atmosphere – where friends and family don’t only eat but share in the food, and more importantly, in the company and camaraderie of kith and kin.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
It helps a lot in achieving his goals that The Manila Bistro is in a most accessible location. You must have heard it said only too often, that three of the secrets of a business endeavor’s success is location, location and location. Thankfully, The Manila Bistro is in the midst of an ever-growing commercial and residential district at Sulemaniyah (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) where many an OFW and family and friends, and a lot of other expatriates, either work or live.

In addition to location, The Manila Bistro’s owners poured a lot of effort into making the restaurant exude a truly hospitable ambience with a predominantly green motif - the tables of wood and metal grills are covered in green banana leaves even if they are simply graphics, while the walls have bamboo leaves and branches stencilled on them. The walls are also home to unique framed photographs of HongKong to evoke a truly Asian feel. A majestic and silvery arhuana beside a cool water feature, in turn, belong to the truly Asian concept of feng shui, and the traditional wish for good luck for both the owners and guests.

Quite expectedly, The Manila Bistro has the traditional and separate sections for single males/bachelors and for families – making for a truly convenient dining venue.

BEST FOOD.
However, location and ambience can only get you so far. The best food remains the basic ingredient for a truly successful and remarkable dining experience.

To ensure that the best food will be consistently available, The Manila Bistro has mobilized a full contingent of a chief cook and assistant cooks (there are 3 of them), with the full complement of a support team that includes waiters, dishwashers, kitchen helpers, dining supervisor, counter cashiers, dispatchers, accountant/payroll clerk, drivers and delivery staff - all supported by an Operations Manager.

To ensure that the best food will be consistently evocative of a home-cooked meal, The Manila Bistro uses only the freshest of ingredients (it is surrounded by groceries and supermarkets after all) and the choicest of spices (from China no less).

To ensure that the best food will be consistently upon reach of as many diners as possible, The Manila Bistro also does catering services as well as food delivery services.

BEST FRIENDS. BEST TIMES.
The Manila Bistro is keen to set itself apart in the restaurant industry in Riyadh . It hopes to do this not just by serving meals, but by fostering fine dining memories and experiences that both family and friends will remember as part of their best times in these parts.
