Date: Tuesday, October 13, 2009 Category: Region: Description: Alpha lipoic acid is a fatty acid that's found naturally in every cell in the body. It's involved in many key functions, such as converting glucose into energy. It's also an antioxidant. What makes it so unusual is that, unlike the more common antioxidants vitamins C and E, alpha lipoic acid works in both water and fat and it's able to recycle other antioxidants that have been used up. Alpha lipoic acid can be found in foods such as meats, and veggies (ie. spinach). Alpha lipoic acid is also easily absorbed into the blood stream, and it can also cross the blood brain barrier. http://alpha-lipoic-acid.herbsmd.com/
