Date: Tuesday, October 20, 2009 Category: Region: Description: Subject: The summary of “raising sheep” project Introduction: The reason for our request for a partner financier or financing from abroad for this project, is the lack of financial liquidity for the implementation of this project, and our inability to obtain a loan from local banks due to the lack of collateral, which is land belonging exclusively to us. We are ready to commit ourselves to any legal, moral and legal guarantees of any contractual point that is required, but unfortunately the laws of the local banks do not permit such loans. We have tried hard to demonstrate the strength of the productivity of the project and the multiplicity of its productivity, but unfortunately it was not successful as traditional ideas can’t tolerate new & sophisticated methods of raising sheep, not to mention the social politics that play a part. We are confident that through the use of advanced and modern technology profits can be made with less cost and better ways. We have the conviction to create a short period of full benefit from the profits and speedy return of capital. We hope that we will be the only name in this area no matter how much competition or multiple the number of competitors. Project description: The idea of the project is to create a sheep farm and make use of their products, based on the examination of the current market in Kuwait. What encouraged us to progress with this project is the annual results for the General Authority for Agriculture and Fisheries of the State of Kuwait, which did not reach self-sufficiency by the State for more than 37%, which means that more of the actual requirement of the meat is not available. Ergo, no matter how many current meat companies are providing a significant amount it is still not enough to cover the total requirement of the State, which creates a permanent need for meat throughout the year. Hence the start of our project to provide the quantity of meat necessary for the domestic market and is lacking in the market today. So our very own sheep farm is the first phase of our project. The next phase will focus on the marketing of meat and after will be the study to construct a plant to process the meat into other products. Project location: AL-Abdali agricultural area has been chosen as the land of the project farm. It's located in the North of the State of Kuwait, where it has agricultural fertility, the breadth of available spaces at low prices. The quality of the sheep: Alawas al-Naimi has been chosen as the type for the project. It's of Syrian origin. It is the quality for triple use (meat, milk, wool), as well as the quality. It has the ability to withstand the extreme climates in the Arab Gulf region which includes the State of Kuwait. It has been tested and proven it has the ability to bear its young, the good quality of its meat, its large size and high productivity of milk equivalent to 450 kilograms over a period of 300 days a year. An added feature is its ability to produce more twins, which will contribute to the high proportion of sales and increase the number of the herd whereby it raises the proportion of profits and reduces the project capital. The reasons for selecting this project: 1. Return of capital because of the high reproductive efficiency and speed of their reproduction. 2. It is suitable for breeding in the semi-arid areas of the desert, where the sheep can walk long distances, and graze on the short and dry plants, on which other types of grazing livestock can not. They can also bear the hunger, thirst and lack of food for long periods. 3. The cost of establishing the farm outdoors is minimal as it does not need special pens, but just enough tenting to house them. 4. Labor costs for their care is minimal, as they are kept in a collective, and two boys and a man are enough to take care of five hundred head of the herd. 5. It Includes the diversification of production (meat - wool - milk), and is distinct from other animals, as the sole producer of wool. 6. They are considered to have modest needs of food nutrition because besides their main food of barley & grass, vegetable waste can fill their needs of the poor feeding, so the efficiency of production of meat increases. 7. The milk of the sheep contains about 7% fat, and the result of this milk is cheese and fermented dairy. 8. Advantage can be taken from sheep fat for cooking, as well as from the small intestine for the manufacture of sutures, and the hooves & bone in the manufacture of glue, and skin for other. 9. Sheep manure is rich in nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, as well as rapid decomposition, and per head of sheep produces about on average of 2.5 m3 per year. 10. The meat of sheep is the best in taste and susceptibility to digestion, in addition to the small size of the unit which makes it desirable for domestic consumption, especially in celebratory events. The guarantees of the project: 1. We are committed to the provision of selected herds of well-known strains. 2. We are committed to providing healthy feed which is a self-cultivated in the project land. 3. We are committed to providing agricultural engineer and a permanent resident veterinarian Dr. in the land of project. 4. We are committed to providing specialized employment in this field to confirm the status of sheep and follow-up throughout the day. 5. We are committed to make special places to isolate the sick sheep from the herds to protect them. 6. We are committed to the best marketing of male births and the creation of marketing channels with the highest material benefit. 7. We are committed to the rehabilitation of female births and choose quality for the modernization and renovation of herds. 8. We are committed to the selection of the best medical equipment and health products and treatment of livestock. 9. We are committed to providing mechanisms for the transfer of livestock, its feed, or products, appropriate to maintaining its integrity. 10. We are committed to providing the latest technological means whether medical or reproduction, such as the milking machine, feeding teats for the young & artificial insemination, for all herds to maintain its integrity. 11. We are committed to providing a special clinic site of the herds and we are committed to processing an air-conditioned or heated delivery rooms, according to the seasons, to maintain the continuity and safety of livestock births.
