Description: The art gallery apartment is a well-kept secret on the 1st floor of a beautifully renovated building of the early 20th century. You will have a unique experience staying here. It is a spacious 7-room apartment, with a comfortable bedroom; the bathroom is very bright with a large window and bathtub; the kitchen is fully equipped. Enjoy the terrace for breakfast or evening drinks or simply to read a book or doze off. There is no living room or TV, but plenty of artwork in every room, worth being admired.
The gallery hosts international and national contemporary artists as well as emerging artists, using all kinds of different media: painting, photography, video and sculpture. It is opened to the public from 3 to 8 PM, you are welcome to mingle with visitors and invited to the opening if you are lucky enough to be lodged here at the time. The curator will be in the premises while the gallery is opened to the public and she will help you plan your day, filling you in on what is happening in Lisbon, pointing you in the direction of other galleries or the best way to get around the city.
It is not an apartment suited for children.
The gallery is in Campo de Ourique, a residential neighborhood with a myriad of restaurants, coffee shops, stores of all kinds and more private hidden galleries. What you need you will find in Campo de Ourique. Checkout the old fashioned covered market where you will find great produce, great fresh fish and an assortment of goodies you haven’t come across in a long time.
