Description: The massage I give is a deep relaxation massage. I also focus on problem areas, such as the neck and shoulders for people whose job involves sitting at a computer terminal all day, or people who drive for a living.
Deep Tissue & Trigger Point
In a typical massage treatment I incorporate some deep tissue and trigger point work in addition to a Swedish relaxation treatment:
Focused deep tissue: I use elbows and knuckles to provide a concentrated and intense deep tissue massage.
Trigger points: Knot work, shiatsu, the holding of those points that cause constriction in your muscles and make you feel tense.
AROMATHERAPY
To enhance the relaxation massage, I generally use a base oil mixed with moisturising oil and lavender. I also burn lavender in an oil burner while the massage is in progress - all of which further induce relaxation and relieve stress and insomnia.
FULL BODY MASSAGE
The massage treatment I generally recommend is a full body massage. This is a head to toe massage while you are lying on your front, then chest, stomach, arms and legs on the front. Some people may just prefer to have the back done, or dislike having a foot massage - please feel free to let me know in advance.
COMMUNICATION
Your comfort is my priority and communication is important during a massage treatment - feel free to let me know if you would prefer more or less pressure for instance. This varies from person to person, though I can generally gauge this correctly myself for the individual in question.
YOUR FIRST MASSAGE
Massage is by its nature a personal experience, and some people tend to be a little nervous their first time. Please feel free to bring a friend or partner along with you if you wish. When you arrive I will take a brief case history then leave you to undress in private. I generally recommend that you undress completely for the massage, but this is entirely up to you. Feel free to keep your underwear on and I will keep you covered with towels throughout the massage if you wish.
