Date: Wednesday, October 28, 2009 Category: Region: Description: IT Support Engineer Our client is searching for an IT Support Engineer to be responsible for covering technical shift duties and procedures, and give technical help desk services to all departments. You will be responsible for covering technical shift duties 24/7 and give answers and solutions to any problems which may occur during the shift, also to assist and give technical help desk to other departments. This is a primarily Hands-on position. The responsibilities are for 1st and 2nd Line Support of approximately 300 Users both remote and desk side, Basic Windows 2000 / 2003 Server Administration; Supporting Microsoft Office Suite and providing ad-hoc training when required; Supporting Internal CRM applications; Supporting on Internal bespoke Software systems; Basic troubleshooting for Exchange 2003; Account and profile creation for new users; Data management and monitoring on servers; Hardware and software upgrades; PC configuration/installation and troubleshoot Technical Skills Required Windows XP, 2000 Professional Familiarity with Windows 2000/2003 Server technology (ideally large user environment 200+) Microsoft Office XP/2000 Microsoft Outlook XP/2000 Familiarity with Exchange 2003 Server Active Directory Services TCP/IP and general basic WAN/LAN troubleshooting capabilities Hours of work: 40 hours weekly including nights and weekends – based on 24-7 shift system Salary is £21k moving to £24k after probationary period
