Description: While I was making a U-turn on the street which insersects on Dabab at SABB Head Officer and ANB Branch, a white Honda Accord 2005-6 hit the back of my car and i stopped right infront of ANB. There were 3 guys (kids 17-20) in it, one on steering and two passeners. As the ignition was on, I told my wife to lock the doors which she did, thanks to Allah. While i was tryin to make a call to the Maroor, the third guy guys came out and was talking to me while one guy sneaked out from that car and went around my back while i was making the call and talking to the 2nd guy, and tried to open the drivers side, and when he was unsucessful he went to the other side, the passenger side, where my wife was seated. But since the car was totally locked they couldn't do anything and as i told them i was calling the police they ran off with a slight damage to the rear bumper of my car.
Never be complacent that such things do not happen. They happen accross the world. So instead of living in fear we must have some Standard operating procedures as to how to deal with them:
These are a few pointers i would like to give:
1) one must be careful of suspicious vehicles on deserted streets, specially when young people are in them.
2) Always switch off the ignition and take out the key and put it in your pocket to secure it, at the location of an accident or a hit.
3) If your family is in the car, even if you need to leave the car to see the damage, immediately return to your car and lock it. And wait for the Maroor.
4) if the hitter absconds, i.e. runs or drives away. be sure to note his reistration plate.
