Sometimes they name it little Venice. Eastern Docklands is a highly urbanized and cosmopolitan living quarter situated along Amsterdam's waterfront. The neighbourhood has a creative and innovative atmosphere. Many small businesses, mainly in the arts, have settled here. There are many art & design shops and the neighbourhood has a fair amount of restaurants, cafes and clubs. Some of them are among Amsterdam's most trendy; others are among the most original in town. Many residents of the Eastern Docklands are professionals or artists between 30 and 50 years old. The area is especially attractive to people with an urban lifestyle, mainly because of the atmosphere and the proximity to shopping, restaurants and public transport. The central area of the Eastern Docklands, right along the IJ lake, has some of the most striking new apartment buildings and also most of the historical buildings in the area. Several of these historical maritime buildings have been renovated; others are still being restored. The eastern part of the neighbourhood has apartment buildings and houses with roof gardens and an attractive view over the water. The warehouses Monday to Sunday have been changed into apartment buildings. The western part of the Eastern Docklands is redesigned in the style of the seventeenth century part of the city. This part of the neighborhood has small streets and canals with attractive canal houses and community gardens and some old warehouses. A warm and inviting self-contained modern apartment, with its own entranceway situated on the first floor of an apartment building on the Java island. The Java-island is surrounded by water �Y-harbour� with moored barges, sailing ships, in spring river cruises and in summer great cruise ships. The apartment has a balcony with a view over the Y-harbour�. A shopping centre is nearby (500 mtrs)(supermarket), restaurant and a snack bar are found within walking distance. The centre of Amsterdam and Central Station are within a twenty minutes walk. By bus and tram it takes 5 minutes. Interior: The apartment is spacious (90m2) modern and tastefully decorated. Equipped with good furniture, the living room has a sitting and dining area (table for 4 persons) and half-open kitchen with combi-microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and cooker with 4 gas-cooker jets. Coffee and tea facilities, cutlery and kitchen utensils etc. There is a charming bedroom with 1 double bed with 2 duvets and a bathroom with washbasin and shower. There is also a separate toilet. Bed linen and towels are available. Storage room with washing machine and the tumble dryer. Central Heating, cable TV (BBC, CNN, MTV etc.), radio, CD-player, Stereo, DVD player, internet (bring your own laptop. The apartment will only be let to a maximum of two adults aged 30+ who will behave good. No backpackers and noise-makers. Smoking, pets and children are not allowed. We are very hospitable and open-minded. Price per week Friday - Friday from Euro 350 to Euro 440. Deposit: Euro 260. Endcleaning Euro 60 inclusive electricity, water, gas,cleaning. Towels and bedlinen 25 euro for 2 persons or bring your own. PLEASE NOTICE THAT RENTING LESS THAN 1 WEEK IS NOT POSSIBLE. Available 5 -12 December (PRICE PER WEEK € 390) Deposit: Euro 260 (must be paid at arrival and will paid back minus € 60 for the endcleaning etc.)at departure when everything is left in good order). Endcleaning Euro 60 inclusive electricity, water, gas,and cleaning(mandatory). You can park your car in the reserved parking space in the garage under the building for Euro 10 per day. Internetaccess Euro 15 per week. Inquiries are free. I send you more photos on request. When you want to make a reservation I need your name, address, telephonenumber, age and profession. Payment is by banktransfer (BIC and IBANnumber) 50% of the price within 7 days after recieving the contract and 50% of the price 4 weeks before the arrival date. After you have given me your information details and you have made a reservation I send you a contract. So you are sure everything is alright. From Amsterdam Schiphol Airport the train takes only 15 minutes to Amsterdam Central Station. With busnr. 42 from Central Station it takes 7 minutes to the Java-island. From the Java-island you can see the Central Station. The tram (200 meters from the apartment) connects the apartment to all the sightseeing in Amsterdam
