All the provinces of Canada (except Quebec and Nunavut) have their own Provincial Nominee Programs and few streams are also linked with the Federal Express Entry System. PNP’s follow two -step process to select the candidates based on the criteria laid down by IRCC.
The candidate applies for the Expression of Interest in the province he or she is interested in and if the candidate qualifies the requisite education, English proficiency, work experience, a nomination from that province is granted.
The next step is to apply for the Permanent residency application within the stipulated time granted. Although there are two ways to proceed with your application, however, the province lets the candidate know how to apply for the permanent residency application.
How PNP program of Canada works?
Provincial nominee program has been laid down for those applicants those who possess the requisite knowledge, work experience and skills which can help that province or territory in economic and social development. Also, the candidate must be willing to settle in that province along with the family.
Depending on the requirement of the labor market, every province decides their number of applications they will accept in an year. The applications are open for students who have completed their Post secondary education in that province for at least two years, skilled workers, semi-skilled workers and even businessmen who are ready to invest a certain amount of money in that province which can boost the job opportunities of the locals and can enhance the economy of that area.
