The Senior Accounting Associate -is responsible for providing expertise and support to the Construction Management team in all areas involving accounting to ensure accurate reporting and transactions. This role oversees the work of Accounting Associates on the team, manages labor time tracking and job costing programs and reporting, and manages subcontractor and vendor relationships to comply with and fulfill all financial commitments for the Construction Management department.
• Independently manage all labor time tracking and job costing programs for the Construction Management teams, including but not limited to adding new locations, setting up employees, reviewing and correcting coding, and exporting system data
• Run reports and analyze data from time tracking software
• Manage the Accounting Associates. Manage associate performance, write performance reviews and provide coaching and feedback. As needed, delegate work and follow up with team members to confirm timely completion of tasks
• Assist with hiring new team members, training new team members, and acting as a mentor to coach and develop new teammates
• Serve as liaison with all accounting teams in the Finance Department
• Properly close out all projects. Reconcile and close all open purchase order balances
• Oversee documentation and compliance for all subcontractors and vendors. Review and reconcile project change request log on a regular basis
• Actively participate in cost report reviews and repair and maintenance budget meetings
• Assist as requested with the repair and maintenance budget process
• Support property managers and construction project managers with reviewing and collecting information for any budget variances
• Assist in process implementation to invoice work orders to appropriate locations. Complete all invoicing on a regular basis and reconcile with the Finance Department

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field required
• 5-7 years’ experience in a construction related field required
• Experience with time tracking/job costing software such as mJobTime, Tsheets or other financial software preferred
• Highly proficient in MS Excel and Google platform (i.e. sites, slides, drive, docs, sheets)
• High level of ethical behavior
• Two or more years of supervisory experience preferred
