Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) is a way to manage desktops in a virtual environment. The virtual environment consists of a server, where the virtual desktop is stored, and a thin client, which the user uses to access the virtual desktop. The server stores the operating system and all of the applications, and the user interacts with the virtual desktop via the thin client. This provides several benefits: centralized management, remote access, and reduced power consumption.
