Position: Electrical Technician
Location: Almoayyed Solar Co., Bahrain
Reports to: Project Engineer / Operations Manager
Role Overview:
Almoayyed Solar Co. is seeking experienced Electrical Technicians to assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical components in solar PV systems. The technician will ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. This role is vital to maintaining the reliability and performance of solar power installations.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Commissioning:
• Install and wire electrical components, inverters, and panels for solar PV systems.
• Connect PV systems to the electrical grid and ensure proper grounding and protection.
• Assist in the installation of transformers, switchgear, and battery storage systems.
• Conduct system testing and commissioning to verify functionality and compliance.
Maintenance and Repairs:
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults in inverters, panels, and distribution boards.
• Replace or upgrade electrical components as required to maintain system performance.
• Conduct thermal imaging and performance checks to detect early signs of failure.
Safety and Compliance:
• Follow all electrical codes, standards, and safety protocols during installations and repairs.
• Ensure electrical installations comply with national regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) policies.
Project Support and Documentation:
• Support project teams during electrical design and planning phases.
• Document all maintenance, testing, and repair activities for record-keeping.
• Provide technical input and suggestions to improve system designs or address on-site challenges.
Key Competencies:
• Proficient in electrical wiring, conduit installation, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working at heights, on rooftops, and outdoors in varying conditions.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Qualifications:
Education: Diploma or Certification in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience:
• 2-5 years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or solar PV systems.
• Experience with high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems.
Certifications:
• Electrical Licensing or Certification (preferred).
• Solar PV Training or Certification (advantageous but not required).
Technical Skills:
• Familiarity with tools like multimeters, clamp meters, and oscilloscopes.
• Basic knowledge of SCADA and monitoring systems.
