How To Access The Cervical Cancer Vaccine In Singapore?

In Singapore, the cervical cancer vaccine refers to the HPV (Human Papillomavirus) vaccine, designed to protect against strains of HPV that can lead to cervical cancer—and other cancers and genital warts. Here’s how you can access the cervical (HPV) vaccine in Singapore:

Who’s eligible & which vaccines are available?
Recommended group (National Immunisation Schedules):
Females (9–26 years) under NCIS/NAIS qualify for HPV vaccination—typically Cervarix (HPV2) for younger teens and three doses for those aged 15+. ([healthhub.sg][1])
Males (9–26 years) can also get vaccinated (usually Gardasil 9) though it's not part of the subsidised national programme.

Vaccine types:
Cervarix – protects against HPV types 16 & 18 (70% of cervical cancer risk).
Gardasil 9 – covers 9 HPV types (16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, 58, plus types 6 and 11, which cause warts).

Where to get it & how much it costs
1. School‑based programme - For Secondary 1–2 girls, vaccination is fully subsidised (0 \$) via schools. Consent is required.
2. CHAS GP clinics (Community Health Assist Scheme) - For female citizens aged 18–26: With Orange or Blue CHAS cards, HPV2 is fully funded under the Temasek Foundation programme (when first dose taken before 30 Sep 2024) – up to full cost at participating clinics. Female Permanent Residents (9–26 years): can get HPV2 at CHAS clinics (not subsidised) and offset costs via Medisave.
3. Polyclinics & public healthcare centres - Offer Cervarix to Singapore citizens and PRs aged 18–26 with means-tested subsidies; Medisave can be used for co-payments.
