XLPE is mainly used for automotive high-voltage wires, also known as cross-linked polyethylene, and has the following advantages:
Heat resistance: XLPE with a three-dimensional mesh structure has excellent heat resistance. //2
Insulation performance: XLPE retains the original good insulation performance of PE, and the insulation resistance is further improved. //3
Mechanical properties: Due to the establishment of new chemical bonds between macromolecules, the hardness, stiffness, wear resistance and impact resistance of XLPE are improved, thus making up for the disadvantage of PE being susceptible to environmental stress cracking. //4
Compared with TPER, XLPE is not soft enough and difficult to make into larger blocks (about 70mm?); it requires irradiation cross-linking, and the process is long, so it is not suitable for areas without accelerators; //5
Of course, the application standards in different fields are also different: //6
High-voltage line standards: ISO 6722, QC/T 1073, CQC 1122, DECRAK179. //7
Charging line standards: CQC1103-1105, DECRA K175. //8
