An AC Technician (Air Conditioning Technician) is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. They diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform routine maintenance, and ensure that HVAC systems operate efficiently and safely. The role requires technical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work with various tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Install, inspect, and test air conditioning systems and components

Diagnose and repair faults in HVAC units, including compressors, motors, thermostats, fans, and refrigerant lines

Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning coils, replacing filters, and checking refrigerant levels

Ensure proper system operation by conducting performance tests and calibrations

Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and wiring schematics

Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition

Ensure compliance with safety standards and local HVAC regulations

Provide excellent customer service and explain repair/installation details to clients

Prepare service reports and documentation

Skills and Qualifications

Technical knowledge of HVAC systems and components

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

Familiarity with HVAC tools, gauges, and testing equipment

Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals

Good communication and customer service skills

Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces
