MEP Estimator
Position Overview: The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for various construction projects, including material, labor, staff and equipment costs. This role involves analyzing project specifications, Bill of Quantities, collaborating with various departments, and utilizing estimation software to ensure comprehensive and precise cost assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand project scope and requirements.
2. Prepare detailed cost estimates for the MEP projects, including equipment cost, Installation material and labour.
3. Utilize advanced estimating software and tools to accurately calculate costs, quantities and prepare BOQs.
4. Identify and quantify project risks, Raise RFIs to clarify the missing information’s to ensure accurate cost estimates.
5. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical information.
6. Prepare and present cost estimates to management for final approval.
7. Participate in bid meetings and negotiations.
8. The candidate should be able to prepare the detailed presentation of the MEP system, for making it more clear to the Client.
9. Review and analyze subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure alignment with project requirements and budget.
10. Maintain accurate records of project estimates, including documentation of assumptions and methodologies used.
11. Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs while maintaining quality and performance standards.
12. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to MEP estimation.
13. Proper Follow-ups need to be made for submitted proposals.
14. The candidate should have the capability to acquire new clients in order to enhance business prospects.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in estimation for construction projects, preferably based in the KSA region.
3. Familiarity with relevant products / service Vendors, Subcontractor is essential.
4. Proficiency in MEP estimation software and tools, such as Candy, Planswift, or similar.
5. Strong understanding of MEP systems, construction methods, and building codes and regulations.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
8. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
9. Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
10. Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership or eligibility is preferred.
