Job Summary
The Tool Setter is responsible for preparing, installing, and adjusting molds, dies, and tools used for extrusion of PVC pipes. The role ensures smooth machine changeovers, proper setup of tooling, and compliance with production schedules while maintaining product quality and minimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and set up tools, dies, mandrels, and calibration units for PVC pipe extrusion lines.
Execute mold changes and machine adjustments as per production requirements.
Ensure correct dimensions, wall thickness, and calibration parameters for required product specifications.
Coordinate with Production and Maintenance teams to ensure proper machine performance.
Monitor tooling wear, condition, and performance; request repair or replacement when needed.
Perform troubleshooting during startup and production runs to maintain quality outputs.
Ensure safe handling and proper storage of molds, dies, inserts, and tools.
Maintain documentation of setups, tool changes, and production logs.
Support preventive maintenance of tooling and extrusion lines.
Adhere to health, safety, and quality standards.
Requirements
Minimum 2–5 years’ experience as a Tool Setter in PVC Pipes / CPVC / PE Pipes / Plastic Extrusion industry.
Hands-on experience with extrusion machines and tool/mold setups.
Good understanding of pipe sizing, dies, calibration, thickness control, and cooling.
Ability to read mechanical drawings and specifications.
Technical diploma in Mechanical / Industrial / Manufacturing (preferred).
Strong troubleshooting and machine setup skills.
