To install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot TETRA communication systems and related radio infrastructure. The role ensures reliable mission-critical communication services for operations, security, and emergency response.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. System Installation & Integration
- Install, configure, and commission TETRA base stations (TBS), switching nodes, dispatch consoles, and RF repeaters.
- Integrate TETRA systems with existing communication networks and IT infrastructure.
- Perform site surveys, RF planning, and coverage analysis.
B. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve faults in TETRA radios, infrastructure, antennas, and transmission lines.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance for all TETRA components.
- Monitor system performance and optimize radio parameters to enhance coverage and quality.
C. Network Support & Operations
- Manage TETRA subscribers: activation, deactivation, talk-group assignment, and provisioning.
- Configure and maintain network features such as SDS, encryption (Air Interface & End-to-End), GPS, and call routing.
- Maintain system logs, backups, and performance reports.
D. RF & Infrastructure Management
- Perform RF measurements (RSSI, BER, coverage, VSWR).
- Ensure proper functioning of repeaters, combiners, duplexers, and antennas.
- Coordinate with vendors for site upgrades and hardware replacement.
E. Compliance & Documentation
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and system topology diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with safety and telecom regulatory standards.
- Maintain asset inventory of radios, accessories, and infrastructure components.
3. Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
- 3–7 years of experience in telecom engineering with a focus on TETRA systems.
- Hands-on expertise with systems such as Motorola DIMETRA, Airbus TETRA, Hytera, or other similar platforms.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of RF principles, digital communication, and trunked radio systems.
- Experience in TETRA architecture and interfaces, encryption management, IP networking, antenna systems, and RF propagation.
- Proficiency in using RF testing equipment (Site Master, Spectrum Analyzer, Power Meter).
