Prepare, implement, and oversee Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs in line with project specifications, company standards, and applicable local regulations.
Ensure proper execution of safety systems including risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and permit-to-work procedures across all construction activities.
Carry out routine site safety inspections, internal audits, and toolbox talks to maintain and promote a strong safety culture.
Identify and assess hazards associated with construction works such as excavation, work at height, lifting operations, scaffolding, and formwork, ensuring suitable control measures are applied.
Monitor and enforce HSE compliance among subcontractors, workers, and site staff to ensure safe working practices are consistently followed.
Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts or conditions; prepare detailed reports and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain and update all HSE documentation, including accident and incident records, safety statistics, inspection reports, and training logs.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to integrate HSE requirements into daily construction operations.
Ensure correct usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper installation of safety signs and warnings across the site.
Assist in emergency preparedness planning, conduct drills, and support environmental protection and sustainability initiatives on site.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 3 to 7 years of proven experience in an HSE Engineer or Safety Officer role within building or construction projects.
Mandatory professional HSE certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent internationally recognized qualifications.
In-depth knowledge of local HSE legislation, international safety standards, and best practices within the construction industry.
Demonstrated experience in managing HSE documentation, conducting audits, and coordinating with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities during inspections.
