Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and creative Head Chef specializing in Thai and Chinese cuisine to lead our kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for menu development, food quality, kitchen management, and team leadership while maintaining high standards of hygiene and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, design, and update authentic Thai and Chinese menus
Prepare and supervise high-quality food production
Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
Manage kitchen staff (Sous Chefs, Cooks, Helpers)
Train and motivate kitchen team members
Monitor food costs, wastage, and inventory
Handle supplier coordination and ingredient quality checks
Maintain food safety and hygiene standards (as per Bahrain regulations)
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation policies
Manage kitchen schedules and duty rosters
Introduce seasonal specials and new recipes
Coordinate with restaurant management for operations and events
Required Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience as Head Chef / Executive Chef (minimum 5 years preferred)
Strong expertise in Thai and Chinese cuisines
Knowledge of authentic recipes, sauces, and cooking techniques
Experience in GCC/Bahrain market is an advantage
Leadership and team management skills
Good time management and multitasking ability
Cost control and inventory management knowledge
Ability to work under pressure
Good communication skills (English required; Arabic is a plus)
Education & Certification
Culinary Diploma / Degree (Preferred)
Food Safety & Hygiene Certification (Mandatory in Bahrain)
First Aid Certification (Optional)
