QC Welding Inspector – CSWIP 3.1 Requirements
Mandatory Qualifications

Certification: CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector (Certified) – valid and current.

Education:
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, OR
Equivalent technical qualification in Welding/Metallurgy.

Experience:
Minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant welding inspection experience, including:
Inspection of welded joints (visual, dimensional, and defect identification)
Review of WPS, PQR, WPQ, and welding documentation
Ensuring compliance with project welding codes (ASME, AWS, API, ISO)
Experience as a welding supervisor or inspector will be an advantage
Technical Skills

Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and welding symbols.

Knowledge of NDT methods (RT, UT, MT, PT, VT).

Ability to prepare inspection reports, checklists, and NCRs.

Familiarity with quality management systems and safety standards.

Personal & Professional Attributes

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Good communication skills for reporting and coordination with project teams.

Ability to work under pressure and in field/fabrication site conditions.

Good eye sight/vision – certificate may be required.

Additional Requirements (Preferred)

Experience in oil & gas, construction, or heavy fabrication projects.

Knowledge of local codes and standards in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Proficiency in MS Office, welding inspection software, or QA/QC software
