New England Forestry Foundation (NEFF) is a nonprofit dedicated to conserving New England’s forestlands and advancing sustainable forestry for people and the planet. For over 75 years, we’ve worked with landowners, communities, and partners to protect forests through land purchases, conservation easements, and stewardship practices that sustain wildlife habitat, clean air and water, and local livelihoods. NEFF also champions Exemplary Forestry, a climate-smart approach to forest management that enhances carbon storage, biodiversity, and sustainable wood production regionally. With more than 150 community forests open free to the public and a commitment to policies that support private forestland stewardship, NEFF ensures that New England’s forests remain healthy, accessible, and resilient for future generations.
