For those of you who may be un-aware, allow me to shed some light on the VALUE of being a US citizen:
Outside the US:
1. HANLEY INDEX ranks American passports as among the most powerful passports in the world. Go Google it! That is for many reasons, including that holders of American passport can travel to 150+ countries with ZERO need for anything, other than an airplane ticket OR if nearby then transportation (i.e., car, bus, train). NO visa, NO waiting, NO fees, NO medical clearance, NO interview, NO sponsor, NO disclosure of financials, etc.
2. A child born to an American citizen (even if only ONE parent is American) is AUTOMATICALLY an American citizen on Day ONE of his or her birth, irrespective of country of birth. Even if child is born in South Africa, he or she is AUTOMATICALLY an American citizen. Source: This valid practice is referred to as "Citizenship by Acquisition."
3. I, myself, have lived in Saudi Arabia, UAE and Oman. Salaries of American citizens tend to be at least TRIPLE than that of south Asian nationals, along with a totally different (significantly elevated) housing and top notch schooling paid by the employer. Western schools in the Middle East are extremely expensive!
4. General respect for American passport holder -- airports, hospitals and certainly in business/office meetings. American employees working international are often look for advice and wisdom.
Inside the US: After having lived in many countries, the Standard of Living in America is the HIGHEST in the world. i.e., even a housekeeper gets an air-conditioned car, shops and eats at air-conditioned places and there is NO such thing as having to worry on overflow of street water drains and electricity going out -- which are common practices in developing countries. Dozens of other benefits.
Everyone in America gets FREE schools, FREE libraries, FREE parks, etc.
