Job Summary
The AutoCAD Draftsman in the steel industry is responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings, layouts, and fabrication details for steel plant equipment, structures, and mechanical systems. The role involves close coordination with mechanical, civil, and production teams to ensure drawings meet engineering specifications and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD for steel plant equipment, machinery, and structural components.
Develop General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings for mechanical systems.
Create detailed drawings for conveyors, cranes, scrap handling systems, furnaces, ducting, and structural steel.
Modify and update existing drawings based on engineering changes and site requirements.
Coordinate with mechanical engineers, maintenance teams, and project engineers for drawing accuracy and feasibility.
Maintain drawing records, revision control, and documentation as per company standards.
Ensure drawings comply with engineering standards, safety regulations, and fabrication requirements.
Assist in preparing Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical documentation.
