The MEP Draftsman is responsible for preparing, developing, and coordinating detailed Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) drawings for fit-out and interior projects. The role ensures that all drawings are accurate, compliant with project specifications, local authority requirements, and coordinated with other disciplines.
Role Description
Prepare detailed MEP shop drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings in line with project requirements and specifications.
Coordinate MEP drawings with architectural, structural, and other disciplines to avoid clashes and ensure constructability.
Review tender drawings, IFC drawings, and specifications to develop accurate shop drawings.
Incorporate comments and approvals from consultants, clients, and authorities into revised drawings.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and local authority regulations in KSA.
Support the site team by providing timely drawings, revisions, and technical clarifications as required.
Maintain proper documentation and version control of all drawings and revisions.
Assist in preparation of as-built drawings upon project completion.
Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and site teams to ensure smooth execution of works.
Personal Qualities & Requirements
Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience as an MEP Draftsman, preferably within the fit-out / interior contracting industry.
Diploma or technical qualification in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP will be an added advantage.
Solid understanding of MEP systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, and ELV systems.
Experience working on fast-track commercial, retail, hospitality, or mixed-use projects.
Good coordination skills and ability to work closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple drawings and revisions simultaneously.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight project deadlines.
Excellent English communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multinational environment.
