Job Summary:
The Heavy Auto Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the maintenance, repair, and inspection of heavy vehicles and equipment such as trucks, buses, loaders, excavators, and other diesel-powered machinery. The role ensures that all mechanical work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to company and manufacturer standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and guide a team of heavy vehicle mechanics and technicians.
Plan, schedule, and monitor preventive maintenance and repair work.
Diagnose complex mechanical faults in heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
Ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks are completed on time.
Inspect completed work to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
Maintain records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and spare parts usage.
Coordinate with the parts department for required spare parts and tools.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and workshop regulations.
Provide technical support and training to mechanics and junior technicians.
Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements or replacements.
Manage breakdown response and emergency repairs in the field if required.
Control workshop productivity and ensure efficient use of resources.
Required Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Automotive Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5–10 years of experience in heavy vehicle maintenance.
At least 2–3 years in a supervisory role in a workshop or fleet maintenance environment.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and heavy equipment systems.
