Storage and Organization: Organize warehouse layout for optimal space utilization, applying methodologies such as 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) ensure proper labeling, shelving and rotation of goods (e.g., FIFO - First In, First Out) to preserve product quality and facilitate efficient retrieval. Assign optimal bin / slot locations based on item traits, turnover and picking frequency.Use fixed / dynamic zoning, label locations and update WMS master data. Audit locations regularly to resolve discrepancies.
Issuance and Dispatch: Process requisitions for materials, accurately pick, pack and issue items to internal departments or external customers and prepare outbound shipments, including documentation and coordination with logistics providers. Apply FIFO/FEFO or batch rules, pick, verify, pack and update via Goods Issue Notes (GIN). Stage items for dispatch monitor issuance to prevent shortages / unauthorized withdrawals.
Stock Auditing and Reporting: Conduct periodic physical inventories, cycle counts and audits to identify discrepancies and generate reports on inventory status, slow moving items, departmental charges and consumption trends for management review. Inspect / isolate damaged / defective items and document with photos and reports. Notify stakeholders and initiate RTV or disposal. Segregate in quarantine / scrap areas and adjust inventory records.
Health, Safety and Compliance: Enforce OSHA standards and PPE usage. Conduct inspections and emergency drills. Adhere to occupational health and safety regulations including proper handling and storage of hazardous materials, maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean, orderly and safe warehouse environment, report incidents and recommend process improvements.
Material Handling: Operate material handling equipment ( pallet jacks) perform minor maintenance on storeroom assets and coordinate repairs as needed. Maintain category specific conditions (e.g. temperature controlled, secure areas).
Documentation and Administrative Tasks: Update warehouse records, prepare requisitions for replenishment and maintain accurate transaction logs, collaborate with procurement, production and finance teams for seamless supply chain integration. Prepare / maintain GRNs, GINs, transfer notes, bin cards and challans. Ensure documents include codes, quantities, dates, batches and signatures.
Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for improving warehouse efficiency such as streamlining receiving procedures or enhancing stock accuracy, while ensuring adherence to quality management systems and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate transaction / stock movement records (manual/ digital). Ensure traceability via batch / lot / serial tracking and retain for statutory periods. Generate stock status and anomaly reports.
