• Supervision & Leadership: Directly oversee and coordinate work crews (laborers, operators) to ensure high-quality work and maximum productivity.
• Planning & Scheduling: Organize daily tasks based on project timelines, drawings, and specifications.
• Safety Enforcement: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including conducting safety meetings and ensuring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Resource Management: Allocate tools, equipment, and materials to prevent waste and ensure adequate supply for daily operations.
• Project Coordination: Liaise with engineers, site managers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth execution of civil works such as earthworks, concrete, or pipe installation.
• Quality Control & Reporting: Inspect work for compliance with standards, resolve on-site technical issues, and provide daily reports on progress and accomplishments.
• Verifying Regulatory Compliance: Surveyors ensure proposed developments adhere to zoning laws, setbacks, easements, and environmental regulations, preventing construction on restricted land.
• Preparation of Survey Plans: Surveyors prepare detailed site maps, reports, and survey decisions that are submitted to local authorities (such as through the Balady platform in Saudi Arabia) for permit issuance.
• Permit Application Documentation: For projects like demolition, or fencing permits, the survey decision is a required document that must be submitted to municipal or municipal engineering offices.
• Site Inspection and Safety Checks: Surveyors or authorized personnel conduct site inspections to evaluate structural integrity and identify potential hazards, ensuring the site is safe for construction before permitting.
• Issuing Permits and Approvals: In many jurisdictions, Permit Issuers review the survey findings and, upon verifying that all regulations are met, officially issue the necessary building permits.
• Issuing Certificates of Final Inspection: Upon project completion, surveyors perform final inspections to ensure compliance, leading to the issuance of Occupancy Permits
