About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Engineer to manage and lead major multidiscipline Telecommunication and IT projects in a dynamic and challenging environment. As the Senior IT Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the full life cycle of significant projects, from conceptual design through to implementation, commissioning, and closeout. This is a leadership position requiring exceptional project management expertise, technical knowledge, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams effectively. The role involves ensuring that all project goals are met within scope, budget, and timeline, all while maintaining a high standard of quality and safety.



Job Purpose:

This role is accountable for managing major IT/Telecommunication projects, including overseeing the work of multi-disciplinary teams. The Senior IT Engineer will drive the success of critical projects related to data center and network infrastructure, business continuity, disaster recovery, information and cyber security. The position requires managing everything from the planning phase to implementation, ensuring the execution is completed on time and within the specified budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality.



Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership & Stakeholder Management:

Lead teams consisting of discipline engineers, designers, subcontractors, and consultants to deliver large IT and telecommunication projects from conception to completion.

Ensure all stakeholders are aligned and fully committed to the project's success.

Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and resources efficiently, ensuring clear communication and transparency at all stages.

Act as the key point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.

Project Planning & Execution:

Develop comprehensive project plans that include scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation, aligned with business objectives.

Oversee the allocation of resources and ensure effective management of project deliverables.

Proactively identify potential bottlenecks and resolve issues quickly to avoid project delays.

Monitor and control the execution of the project, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Quality & Performance Management:

Maintain rigorous quality assurance protocols across all project activities, ensuring that deliverables meet required standards and specifications.

Continuously track project progress against KPIs and milestones and take corrective actions when necessary.

Prepare and present detailed performance reports, including project status, key findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.

Oversee the completion of quality control measures and handle project handovers to the client effectively.

Risk & Safety Management:

Identify, assess, and mitigate risks that could affect the project timeline, budget, or quality.

Implement and manage safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all project personnel, following health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.

Regularly monitor and manage project-related risks and ensure that appropriate risk management strategies are in place.

Team Management & Development:

Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to project team members to foster a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Develop training and development programs for junior team members to build skills and competencies.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned from previous projects.

Business Continuity & IT Solutions Expertise:

Take a proactive role in business continuity management, including the planning, testing, and reporting of disaster recovery solutions.

Stay updated with the latest advancements in IT solutions and telecommunications, ensuring project activities benefit from cutting-edge technology and practices.

Develop and implement innovative solutions to improve project efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance performance.

Committees & Collaboration:

Establish and manage committees and working groups in alignment with organizational governance standards.

Lead meetings effectively, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and action items are followed up promptly.

Organize the documentation of meetings, including minutes, actions, and deadlines, ensuring seamless communication between teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management, Project Management, or a relevant technical field.

Experience:

At least 15+ years of experience in IT and Telecommunication project management.

A minimum of 5-10 years of experience managing large-scale projects with budgets over $2 million.

Proven track record in leading multi-disciplinary project teams and managing complex projects from planning to completion.

Technical/Functional Competencies:

Extensive knowledge of Agile methodologies, including scope and backlog management, iterative development, and SDLC principles.

Strong expertise in Project Control, Project Change Management, Time Management, Conflict Management, and Project Cost Management.

Demonstrated ability to manage large projects within the Telecommunication and IT sectors (including data centers, network infrastructure, disaster recovery, and business continuity).

Proficient in using project management tools and software for planning, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.

Soft Skills:

Strong leadership and team-building abilities.

Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

Ability to identify and mitigate project risks proactively.

Strong decision-making ability and the capacity to take corrective actions when needed.

Business Expertise:

Strong understanding of IT solutions related to project requirements.

Knowledge of HSE regulations and ensuring safety compliance during all stages of project execution.

Ability to drive improvements and value through cost-effective strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:

PMP (Project Management Professional) or other relevant certifications.

Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.

Experience with global practices and exposure to working in the GCC region, particularly in Saudi Arabia.
