🔎 Position Overview
We are seeking a Black Soldier Fly (BSF) Farm Technician to support all stages of the BSF production cycle — from breeding and larvae rearing to harvesting and processing. This is a hands-on role ideal for candidates comfortable working in a farm environment and following strict operational procedures.
🧩 Key Responsibilities
🔹 Production & Rearing Operations
• Support BSF breeding, egg collection, and incubation
• Prepare and manage organic feed substrates
• Monitor larvae growth, feeding, and health
• Maintain hygiene and prevent contamination
🔹 Environmental Monitoring
• Track temperature, humidity, and ventilation
• Adjust systems like humidifiers, fans, and airflow
• Ensure optimal conditions across all life cycle stages
🔹 Harvesting & Processing
• Harvest larvae at the correct stage
• Separate larvae and perform initial processing (washing, drying, cooling)
• Record production data and yields accurately
🔹 Waste Management & Maintenance
• Handle and prepare organic waste for feeding
• Clean and sanitize equipment and facility areas
• Assist with basic maintenance and troubleshooting
🎯 Requirements
✅ Essential:
• Good English communication skills
• Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting up to 50 kg, standing, bending)
• Comfortable working with insects and organic materials
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs
➕ Preferred:
• Experience in farming, insect rearing, or waste management
• Background in agriculture, biology, or environmental science
🎓 Qualification:
Associate diploma or equivalent (relevant field preferred)
