Data Center Mechanical Engineer ( Fire System Specialist )

To provide expert consultancy, design review, and technical guidance on Fire & HVAC systems for Exchanges (small-sized data centers) within STC - TFM department, ensuring compliance with international standards, energy efficiency, and operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review and validate Fire, HVAC designs, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Ensure proper sizing, selection, and integration of fire system (clean agent, fire alarm, sprinkler system… , etc.).
• Ensure proper sizing, selection, and integration of cooling equipment (CRAC/CRAH, precision air conditioning, chilled water systems, etc.).
• Assess and recommend solutions for energy efficiency, redundancy (N+1, 2N, etc.).
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting and resolving Fire & HVAC issues affecting cooling performance.
• Coordinate with electrical and CEM teams to align mechanical systems with overall exchange infrastructure.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (ATD or CDCP accreditation is preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in Fire & HVAC design/consultancy, with at least 5 years in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of ASHRAE,HCIS, Civil defense, NFPA & SBC for data centers.
• Proficiency in Fire & HVAC load calculation software and design tools.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and consultancy skills.
