The role involves inspection and evaluation of embankment construction, rock cutting operations, and side slope stability to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. The position is critical in maintaining structural integrity and preventing slope failures in infrastructure projects.
1) Earthwork inspector
🛠️ Key Responsibilities. (But not limited to)
Earthwork & slope inspection.
Rock cutting and slope stability assessment.
Conduct site inspections and document findings with reports and photographs.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards (ASTM, AASHTO), and approved method statements.
Coordinate with surveyors to verify levels, slopes, and alignment.
Identify soil and rock properties.
Identify non-conformities and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain inspection logs and quality records.
Ensure cutting profiles match approved drawings and design levels.
Check for overbreak, undercuts, and stability of exposed rock faces.
Can conduct rock slope examination and Mass assessment.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geology.
5–7 years of experience in earthworks.
Strong knowledge of:
Soil mechanics and compaction techniques
Rock excavation and slope stability
Embankment construction practices
Experience with field testing (FDT, Proctor, core logging, etc.).
Ability to read engineering drawings and geotechnical reports.
