A CCTV Technician is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting surveillance and security systems including cameras, NVR/DVR, access control, and networking components.
2. Key Responsibilities
Install and configure CCTV systems (IP & Analog cameras)
Setup and maintain NVR/DVR systems
Perform structured cabling (CAT6, fiber if needed)
Configure network devices (switches, routers) for CCTV integration
Conduct system testing, commissioning, and handover
Troubleshoot faults (camera, recording, network issues)
Provide on-site and remote technical support
Ensure proper documentation (as-built drawings, IP plans)
Coordinate with clients for requirements and training
Maintain system uptime and perform preventive maintenance
3. Technical Skills Required
Strong knowledge of:
IP Cameras & Analog CCTV systems
Video Management Systems (VMS)
Networking (IP addressing, VLAN, basic routing)
Experience with brands like:
Dahua, Hikvision, Uniview, etc.
Understanding of:
NVR/DVR configuration
Remote viewing setup (mobile & desktop)
PoE switches and cabling standards
Ability to read technical drawings and layouts
4. Qualifications
Diploma or Certification in:
Electronics / IT / Networking / Security Systems
Relevant certifications (preferred but not mandatory):
CCTV / Security Systems Certification
Basic Networking (e.g., CCNA – advantage)
5. Experience
2–5 years experience in CCTV or low-current systems
Experience in:
Residential & commercial installations
Troubleshooting and maintenance

7. Additional Requirements
Valid driving license (preferred in Bahrain)
