Job Title: Network Administrator

Job Purpose
The Network Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and security of the organization’s network infrastructure across all locations. This role ensures stable, secure, and high-performing network connectivity for business operations, including LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, branch connectivity, core/access switching, firewall coordination, and network segmentation aligned with cybersecurity and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Network Operations & Support
• Administer and maintain the enterprise network infrastructure, including core switches, access switches, firewalls, uplinks, and branch connectivity.
• Monitor network availability, bandwidth usage, latency, packet loss, and link stability across all sites.
• Troubleshoot network outages, connectivity issues, VLAN problems, routing issues, and port-level faults.
• Support structured cabling, patch panel mapping, switch port allocation, and communication room coordination.
• Ensure network services are available and optimized for business-critical systems, including ERP, email, cloud applications, voice, and remote connectivity.
Fortinet / Security Infrastructure
• Support and manage Fortinet-based network environments, including FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiLink, and related security/networking components.
• Assist in firewall policy implementation, VLAN segmentation, trunking, inter-VLAN routing, and secure access control.
• Maintain network segmentation in line with business and cybersecurity requirements.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity and SOC teams for secure log forwarding, monitoring, incident response, and network hardening.
• Assist in secure remote access, VPN setup, and branch-to-branch or site-to-site connectivity.
Configuration & Change Management
• Configure and maintain switches, VLANs, LACP, uplinks, DHCP relay, routing, and network access controls.
• Execute approved network changes, firmware upgrades, switch replacements, and maintenance windows with minimal business disruption.
• Maintain proper backup of network device configurations and ensure restore readiness.
• Document all network changes, incidents, root causes, and corrective actions.
Monitoring, Performance & Incident Handling
• Proactively monitor network performance and identify bottlenecks, flapping links, congestion, or unstable ports.
• Investigate recurring issues such as packet loss, spanning/mirroring-related disruptions, loop risks, broadcast storms, and firmware-related instabilities.
• Participate in major incident resolution and provide technical findings for RCA reports.
• Escalate critical issues to vendors or senior IT leadership when required.
Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain updated network diagrams, IP schemes, VLAN lists, rack elevations, circuit documentation, and device inventories.
• Ensure documentation is available for audit, operations, and DR purposes.
• Support compliance with internal standards and external requirements such as ISO 27001, NCA ECC, and internal IT governance controls.
• Assist in implementing secure network practices, least privilege access, and proper segregation of duties.
Coordination & Vendor Management
• Coordinate with ISPs, structured cabling providers, OEM vendors, and support partners for troubleshooting and project execution.
• Support implementation of new offices, network expansions, relocations, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Collaborate with server, security, and helpdesk teams to ensure seamless service delivery.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Relevant certifications preferred, such as Fortinet NSE/FCP, CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
• 3–6+ years of experience in enterprise network administration.

Technical Skills
• Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, LACP, DHCP, DNS, routing, and switching.
• Hands-on experience with Fortinet networking and security products.
• Good understanding of firewall rules, VPNs, access control, and network security best practices.
• Familiarity with wireless networks, structured cabling, and network monitoring tools.
• Ability to read and maintain network diagrams and technical documentation.
