1. Quality Planning and Documentation
• Review and approve ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), method statements, WPS/PQR, and material certificates.
• Ensure all contractor quality documents comply with project specifications and refinery standards.
• Maintain complete QA/QC records for each equipment or system, as required by Petro Rabigh’s QA/QC expectations.
2. Inspection and Compliance Oversight
• Conduct inspections for fabrication, installation, welding, pressure testing, and equipment repairs.
• Verify that all repairs follow OEM specifications, a requirement explicitly stated for Petro Rabigh QA/QC roles.
• Establish and witness hold points and ensure they are strictly followed.
3. Revamp Specific Quality Control
Revamp projects involve working on an operating refinery, so the QC Engineer must:
• Manage quality in brownfield conditions (tie ins, hot work, confined spaces).
• Ensure safe and compliant execution during shutdowns and turnarounds.
• Verify that modifications do not compromise existing systems.
4. Coordination and Interface Management
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, operations, and HSE teams.
• Interface with vendors, inspectors, and third party agencies.
• Support the QA/QC Manager in audits, NCR management, and corrective actions.
5. Code and Standard Compliance
• Ensure adherence to ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, and Petro Rabigh/Aramco aligned standards.
• Verify that all materials and workmanship meet refinery requirements.
6. Reporting and Recordkeeping
• Prepare daily, weekly, and milestone quality reports.
• Track NCRs, site observations, and corrective actions.
• Maintain traceability of materials, welders, and inspection records.
🎓 Qualifications Typically Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or discipline specific for the role).
• 15+ years of QA/QC experience in refineries or petrochemical plants.
• Strong knowledge of QMS and Root Cause Analysis (RCA), which Petro Rabigh explicitly requires.
• Experience in revamp, shutdown, or brownfield projects.
• Familiarity with Saudi Arabia refinery standards and work culture.
• Certification on CSWIP 3.1/3.2 is mandatory
• Certification on NDT Level II Techniques (PT,MPI,RT & UT) is mandatory
• ISO 9001:2015 Certification from Accredited body
