Job Title: Warehouse Manager – Furniture Retail

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Warehouse Manager to oversee warehouse operations for a furniture retail business. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing large-item inventory, warehouse layout planning, and operational workflows within a retail or furniture environment.

This role requires hands-on leadership in inventory management, warehouse organization, team supervision, and ERP-based stock control, with a preference for candidates with Odoo ERP experience. The candidate should also have experience in warehouse setup, relocation, or layout redesign to ensure optimal use of storage space and smooth operational flow.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of furniture items.
Ensure proper handling and storage of large and fragile furniture products to prevent damage.
Manage inbound shipments from suppliers and outbound deliveries to customers and retail locations.
Coordinate with logistics, showroom, and e-commerce teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.

Warehouse Layout & Optimization

Design and optimize warehouse layout to improve space utilization and operational efficiency.
Lead or support warehouse relocation, restructuring, or expansion projects.
Implement best practices for the storage of bulky furniture items and high-value inventory.

Inventory & ERP Management

Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP systems (Odoo preferred).
Conduct regular cycle counts, stock audits, and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.
Monitor aging, slow-moving, and damaged inventory and coordinate corrective actions.
Ensure proper use of barcode systems and inventory tracking processes.

Team Leadership

Supervise and manage a team of 10–15 warehouse staff, including loaders, pickers, and helpers.
Assign daily tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure operational discipline.
Train staff on safe handling of furniture items and warehouse procedures.

Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and reduce operational bottlenecks.
Implement warehouse SOPs and operational best practices.
Support ERP process improvements and system adoption within the warehouse team.

Health & Safety:

Ensure compliance with warehouse safety procedures and proper equipment usage.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse conditions.

Requirements

5+ years of warehouse management experience, preferably in furniture, home décor, or bulky-item retail industries.
Experience managing warehouse teams of 10–15 employees.
Strong knowledge of inventory control and warehouse operations for large products.
Experience with ERP systems; Odoo experience is strongly preferred.
Experience in warehouse layout design, relocation, or operational restructuring.
Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced retail or distribution environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in furniture retail or home décor distribution warehouses.
Knowledge of space optimization and warehouse workflow planning.
Experience working with barcode systems and ERP-based inventory management.
Strong coordination skills across operations, logistics, and retail teams.
