Server Support Specialist

Job Summary

The Server Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining and supporting the organisation’s server infrastructure, ensuring high performance, availability, and security. The role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and upgrading both physical and virtual servers, collaborating with IT teams, and supporting disaster recovery and backup strategies.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities
Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual servers to ensure optimal performance.
Install, configure, and upgrade server hardware, operating systems, and server software.
Ensure server security, backups, and disaster recovery procedures are implemented and maintained.
Maintain comprehensive system documentation, logs, and performance reports.
Collaborate with the IT team to resolve escalated server and network issues.
Support deployment of updates, patches, and changes to server infrastructure.
🎓 Minimum Requirements
Candidate must be based in Bahrain and available for immediate joining.
Diploma or Bachelor’s in IT, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
Previous experience in server administration or IT infrastructure support.
Familiarity with Windows Server and/or Linux environments, including virtualization (e.g., VMware or Hyper‑V).
Basic understanding of networking fundamentals and server‑related technologies.
Good troubleshooting, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
💡 Preferred Skills (Optional)
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Server Administrator, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), CompTIA Server+, or ITIL Foundation.
Experience with backup solutions, disaster recovery tools, and security best practices.
