Job Summary:

The Tetra Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio) systems. The technician ensures the reliable operation of radio communication networks by performing hands-on technical work at sites, resolving faults, and assisting in network upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Commissioning:
Install, configure, and test TETRA base stations, repeaters, terminals, and dispatch consoles.
Conduct site surveys and assist in setting up network infrastructure.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections of network equipment.
Diagnose, repair, and replace faulty components to ensure uninterrupted communication services.
Network Support:
Monitor system performance and report anomalies to Tetra Engineers.
Assist in network optimization, including coverage testing and signal adjustments.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of site visits, maintenance activities, and incidents.
Provide reports to engineers or managers regarding faults, repairs, and upgrades.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to safety procedures while working at towers, rooftops, and other field locations.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and telecom regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma or degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or Electrical Engineering.
Hands-on experience with TETRA systems, RF equipment, and network hardware.
Understanding of radio frequencies, signal propagation, and antenna systems.
Proficient in using testing tools, multimeters, and diagnostic software.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to travel to field sites and work at heights when required.
Preferred Attributes:
Prior experience in mission-critical communication networks.
Familiarity with TETRA brands like Motorola, Sepura, or Hytera.
Certification in RF or telecom systems maintenance is an advantage.
