Job Title: DCFO Director
Job Level Definitions
Master: Unique mastery and recognized authority on MEP and control systems knowledge including technologies, theories, or techniques. Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas which will lower risk, minimize impact from facility failures and reduce operating costs. Successfully operates in the most complex datacentre disciplines which the company depends on to support IT and the IT supported business model.
Provides innovative solutions, developing and testing to assure minimization of operational risk when implemented. Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives. Develops strategy and sets functional policy and direction. Acts as a functional manager within area of expertise and manages a technical staff, vendors, and supplemental design professionals and consultants.
Leads large, cross-division functional teams or projects that affect the organization, datacentre performance and long-term goals and objectives. May participate in cross-division and multi-function teams to represent datacentre facility responsibilities in providing the space, power and cooling resources needed to assure IT processing capacity and availability goals are achieved. Provides mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.
Responsibilities
• Directs the management of all facility equipment and systems, personnel, vendors and other resources required to deliver availability, capacity and cost objectives in supporting the space, power and cooling requirements for IT operations.
• Develops, reviews and approves all facility operations governance, maintenance, and emergency response procedures and related contracts and costs, committing the resources of the company in fulfilling IT management expectations for facility performance.
• Based on technical expertise and experience, develops services for datacentre clients that provide a competitive edge for the company in the mission critical service industry, anticipating business needs and technology demands for mission critical facility services.
• Provides Principal level services on datacentre multi-functional design efforts, focusing on the datacentre service life span where the operational reliability matches the reliability inherent in the physical systems design.
• Sets operational and facility systems testing and commissioning standards used as a guide and reference for developing services, operations intellectual property and maintenance methodology used to meet project and operations objectives.
• Mentors and develops talent to assure operations capabilities are sustained and capable of meeting the datacentre demand for high availability, adequate capacity at reasonable cost.
• Assigns staff, Project Managers, engineers and vendor resources to meet talent, schedule, and budget and scope requirements for projects and operations activities.
• Specifies roles and responsibilities for staff functions within the organization and actively recruits talent to sustain operations functions
Education and Experience Required
• BA, BS, MS or equivalent in technical area related to mission critical systems.
• Data centre certification’s ,ATD,AOS ,CDCP,CDFOM .
• 10-15 years’ experience in management of datacentre design, field engineering, testing or datacentre facility operations.

Knowledge and Skills
• Demonstrates ability to provide operational engineering direction to datacentre staff, Real Estate and IT management to optimize datacentre performance. Ability to lead complex contractual discussions from owner’s perspective from concept through to final negotiations and sign-off. Ability to analyse highly technical information and synthesize effective approaches and solutions to datacentre operations problems.
• Assigns and monitors resources to fulfil datacentre performance objectives, providing high level direction in problem resolution. Ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex technical issues to non-technical management, IT Operations and engineering staff.
• Ability to develop, review and approve standards for delivering facility related IT support services across the organization.
Scope and Impact
Business and technical leadership for multiple end-user clients relying on datacentre capacity and availability. Integral part of business planning and operation of a global organization delivering IT services to business clients and end-users. Manages contracts valued to $10 Million, operations and utility budgets valued to $5Million and datacentre projects valued to $300 Million.
Complexity
Develops business relationships with IT, Real Estate and business clients leading to a unified approach to delivering IT services through effective facility management and operations. Develops strategic space power and cooling consulting services to datacentre operational clients to support effective deployment of IT infrastructures. Global direction and contribution in organizational performance and talent development. Leadership role in major company IT and Real Estate initiatives
