Our client, a leading EPC entity operating one of the region’s major fabrication facilities, is looking to onboard a Welding Engineer to support ongoing offshore structures and heavy fabrication works.
This role is ideal for professionals with strong exposure to jacket fabrication, yard operations, and welding engineering oversight in Oil & Gas projects.

???? Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering ????
Minimum 6 years of fabrication yard experience ????️
Strong background in offshore jacket fabrication (highly preferred) ????
Must be available in KSA and ready for immediate mobilization ????
???? Role Overview
The Welding Engineer will oversee all welding‑related activities within the fabrication yard, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international codes, and client quality requirements. The role demands strong technical expertise in welding processes, offshore structural fabrication, and coordination with production, QA/QC, and engineering teams.
???? Key Responsibilities
Develop, review, and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), PQRs, and WPQs in line with project and international standards (AWS, ASME, API, ISO).
Provide technical support for welding activities across jacket fabrication, piles, decks, and associated offshore structures.
Monitor welding performance, heat input, consumable control, and adherence to approved procedures.
Coordinate with QA/QC teams for NDT requirements, weld inspections, and repair procedures.
Troubleshoot welding‑related issues and recommend corrective actions to maintain productivity and quality.
Ensure compliance with HSE guidelines and fabrication yard best practices.
Support production teams in planning welding sequences, material preparation, and resource allocation.
Participate in client/third‑party audits, technical meetings, and fabrication reviews.
????️ Technical Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW, and other welding processes.
Familiarity with offshore structural fabrication, including jackets, boat landings, risers, and appurtenances.
Understanding of NDT methods (RT, UT, MT, PT) and weld acceptance criteria.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, and welding maps.
Experience in consumable management, welding equipment calibration, and welder qualification programs.
