We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair a variety of vehicles, heavy equipment, or marine machinery. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical repairs in a construction, marine, or industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose mechanical faults in engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems
Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication
Repair or replace defective parts such as belts, hoses, pumps, and seals
Overhaul diesel and petrol engines as required
Inspect and service hydraulic systems including cylinders, hoses, and valves
Maintain service records and log all repairs performed
Conduct pre-operation inspections on equipment before site deployment
Respond to breakdowns on site and perform emergency repairs
Ensure all repairs comply with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
Maintain workshop tools and equipment in clean and working order
Coordinate with supervisors for parts ordering and inventory management
Assist in rebuilding or refurbishing equipment as needed
Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout and proper lifting techniques
