The Cost Estimation Specialist will be responsible for delivering accurate, data-driven cost estimates and tender pricing for high-end retail and F&B fit-out projects. The role requires deep expertise in BOQ preparation, cost benchmarking, and value engineering, ensuring alignment with budget, design intent, and market conditions.
# Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) based on design drawings (IFC / Tender)
- Conduct precise quantity take-offs across Architectural, Joinery, and MEP scopes
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates and pricing breakdowns for fit-out projects
- Build and maintain cost databases and benchmarking models (SAR/m²)
- Analyze tender documents, specifications, and drawings to define full project scope
- Obtain, evaluate, and normalize supplier & subcontractor quotations
- Perform value engineering and cost optimization without compromising quality
- Support tender submissions including technical and commercial proposals
- Identify cost risks, assumptions, and exclusions clearly within estimates
- Coordinate with design and procurement teams for scope alignment
# Technical Expertise (Mandatory):
- Retail & F&B Fit-Out (Shops, Cafés, Restaurants)
- Joinery & Custom Woodworks (High-end detailing)
- Architectural Finishes (Flooring, Ceilings, Paint Systems)
- MEP Systems within fit-out scope (Lighting, Power, HVAC, Fire)
- Shopfronts & Facades (Glass, Aluminum, Cladding)
- Ability to read and interpret full IFC drawing packages
# Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Quantity Surveying
- 3+ years of experience in Cost Estimation / Quantity Surveying
- Proven experience in Retail Fit-Out projects within GCC
- Strong knowledge of Saudi market pricing and supply chain
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (cost modeling, analysis)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
