Role: Senior Procurement Engineer

Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Procurement & MEP Sourcing
Sourcing: Identify and pre-qualify reliable suppliers and subcontractors, specifically for MEP long-lead items (Chillers, Transformers, Firefighting systems, etc.) and civil materials.
Technical Review: Review material submittals and technical data sheets to ensure they meet project specifications and Royal Commission/local authority standards.
Tendering: Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs), conduct comprehensive commercial and technical bid evaluations, and provide recommendations to management.
2. Negotiation & Cost Control
Pricing: Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and payment schedules with vendors to optimize project cash flow and budget.
Comparison: Develop detailed "Price Comparison Sheets" to evaluate multiple bids against the project budget and approved BOQs.
Contracting: Draft and finalize Purchase Orders (POs) and Subcontract Agreements, ensuring all legal and financial protections are in place.
3. Site Follow-Up & Logistics
Schedule Alignment: Actively follow up with site teams to understand material priorities and ensure the procurement schedule aligns with the master project timeline.
Expediting: Track the status of orders from manufacturing to delivery, managing logistics and customs clearance to avoid site delays.
Inventory Coordination: Coordinate with the site storekeepers and engineers to verify that delivered materials match the approved samples and quantities.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Civil Engineering.
Experience: Strictly 7 to 15 years in construction procurement, with a significant focus on MEP systems and industrial projects.
Market Knowledge: Deep familiarity with Saudi Arabian vendors, international shipping logistics, and ZATCA/Customs regulations.
Technical Skills: * Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Expertise in MS Excel for cost tracking and comparison.
Soft Skills: Strong negotiation tactics, integrity, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight project deadlines.
