Job Summary

The Metal Fabrication Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for fabrication projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, materials, labor, and production processes. The role supports bidding, project planning, and cost control to ensure competitive and profitable proposals.


Key Responsibilities

Review technical drawings, specifications, and client requirements
Prepare detailed cost estimates for steel, aluminum, and other metal fabrication works
Calculate material quantities (BOQ) and labor requirements
Coordinate with production, procurement, and engineering teams
Source and evaluate supplier quotations for raw materials and subcontract works
Prepare and submit quotations, tenders, and bid document

Required Qualifications

Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
3–7 years of experience in metal fabrication estimation
Strong knowledge of fabrication processes (cutting, welding, bending, machining)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (AutoCAD, shop drawings)
Proficiency in MS Excel and estimation software
