Mechanical Superintendent/Supervisor

A Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for supervising and managing all mechanical construction, installation, and maintenance activities at oil and gas project sites, ensuring work is executed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

He oversees the daily activities of mechanical teams, including foremen, technicians, and subcontractors, and ensures proper allocation of manpower, tools, and equipment. He reviews engineering drawings, method statements, and work procedures to ensure accurate implementation on site.

The role includes monitoring installation of piping systems, static and rotating equipment, pressure vessels, tanks, and HVAC systems, as well as coordinating with other disciplines such as civil, electrical, and instrumentation to ensure smooth workflow and interface management.

A key responsibility is ensuring strict adherence to HSE regulations and company safety policies, conducting site inspections, and promoting a strong safety culture. He also ensures quality control by coordinating with QA/QC teams and resolving any non-conformance issues.


*Qualifications*

Diploma / Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering
8–15 years experience in oil & gas projects (EPC/refinery/petrochemical)
Strong knowledge of piping, equipment installation, and mechanical systems
Familiar with ASME, API standards and HSE requirements
Site supervision and leadership experience
Roles & Responsibilities
Supervise all mechanical site activities (piping, equipment, HVAC, etc.)
Ensure work is executed as per drawings, specs, and schedule
Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, and other disciplines
Enforce HSE and quality standards on site
Monitor progress and report daily/weekly status
Support testing, pre-commissioning, and handover activities
