• Evaluation of Contractor's Quality Procedures, visual inspection of the contractor's work on the site randomly. Assure all technical documents relative to site quality control are in current status including calibration certificates. Inspect and verify the completion of all punch list items.
• Inspect civil works including earthworks, concrete, reinforcement, formwork, masonry, asphalt and finishing works in compliance with approved drawings, specifications and project standards.
• Ensure construction activities comply with Project Specifications, Method Statements, ITPs, and Quality Plans. Perform site inspections for foundations, sub-structure, superstructure, pavement, utilities and structural elements.
• Monitor and witness material testing (concrete slump, cube tests, soil compaction, CBR, FDT, asphalt density etc.). Verify reinforcement details, bar sizes, spacing, cover, laps, and anchorage prior to concrete pouring. Inspect formwork installation, alignment, levels and release agents before casting. Inspect asphalt works including sub grade, sub base, base coarse, prime coat, tack coat, paving temperature, thickness and compaction.
• Review and approve Material Inspection Request (MIR) and Work Inspection Request (WIR). Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and laboratory teams for inspection and testing approvals. Take corrective and preventive actions on raised non conformities NCRs. Maintain proper quality records, inspection reports, test results, and as built documentation.
• Ensure compliance with international standards such as ASTM, ACI, BS, and AASHTO.
• Monitor health and safety, and environmental compliance during construction activities.
• Support project handover by ensuring all quality documentation is complete and approved.
• As Site Engineers apply Designs and Plans to mark out the site and can be involved in projects ranging from small scale to multi-million ventures. This may include civil, road and other infrastructure projects.
• I also work as part of the Site Management Team liaising with and working alongside Senior Engineers, construction managers, supervisors, planners, surveyors, and contractors. They share responsibility for site security, health and safety, and the organization and supervision of material and human resources.
