FAMILY & COMMUNITY MEDICINE - ASSISTANT / ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Family & Community Medicine specialist to join our academic faculty as an Assistant or Associate Professor. The role involves teaching, clinical supervision, research, and community-based healthcare development within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical & Community Duties:

Provide comprehensive primary healthcare services across all age groups
Manage acute, chronic, and preventive healthcare cases
Supervise and guide residents and junior doctors in outpatient and community settings
Participate in community health programs, outreach activities, and public health initiatives
Promote preventive medicine and health education strategies


Teaching & Academic Responsibilities:

Deliver lectures, tutorials, seminars, and bedside/community-based teaching
Train undergraduate and postgraduate medical students in Family Medicine
Develop and update curriculum, teaching materials, and assessment methods
Supervise postgraduate dissertations, research projects, and case studies
Participate in academic examinations and student evaluations


Research Responsibilities:

Conduct and publish research in peer-reviewed indexed journals
Participate in public health and community medicine research projects
Guide students and residents in research methodology
Contribute to evidence-based practice and healthcare improvement initiatives
Apply for research grants where applicable


Administrative Responsibilities:

Participate in departmental and institutional committees
Contribute to accreditation, quality assurance, and academic planning
Support development of primary healthcare and community outreach programs
Mentor junior faculty and medical trainees


Qualifications & Requirements:

For Assistant Professor:

MBBS with MD / DNB in Family Medicine or Community Medicine (or equivalent recognized qualification)
Minimum 2–3 years of teaching or clinical experience in a recognized institution
Evidence of research publications in peer-reviewed journals (preferred)
For Associate Professor:

MBBS with MD / DNB in Family Medicine or Community Medicine (or equivalent recognized qualification)
Minimum 5–8 years of teaching and/or clinical experience in a teaching hospital or academic institution
Strong record of publications in indexed/peer-reviewed journals
Experience in supervising postgraduate students
Proven academic leadership and contribution to community health programs


Skills & Competencies:

Strong clinical expertise in primary and preventive healthcare
Excellent teaching and mentoring skills
Research and analytical capabilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in community-based and multidisciplinary settings
Licensing / Additional Requirements (Bahrain / GCC – Preferred):

Eligibility for medical licensing with relevant authority (e.g., NHRA – Bahrain)
Experience in accredited medical institutions or universities preferred
