Key responsibilities: Perform on-site/workshop flange facing for pipelines, vessels, heat exchangers, and rotating equipment.
Set up and operate portable flange facing machines (internal/external mount).
Machine flange types including RF, RTJ, and FF as per specifications.
Ensure required surface finish, groove dimensions, and tolerances (ASME standards).
Conduct inspection and measurement using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, roughness tester).
Identify defects such as corrosion, pitting, warping, and damage.
Ensure proper alignment and machine setup to avoid uneven cuts.
Follow approved procedures, safety rules, and permit-to-work systems.
Coordinate with QA/QC inspectors for inspection and acceptance.
Maintain machining records, inspection reports, and measurements.
Ensure cleaning and preservation of machined flange surfaces.
Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of machines and tools.
Mechanical damage
Ensure correct alignment and setup of machining equipment to avoid eccentricity and uneven cuts.
Follow approved method statements, safety procedures, and permit-to-work systems (especially in live plant/shutdown environments).
Coordinate with QA/QC inspectors for inspection, acceptance, and documentation of flange facing work.
Maintain proper records of machining activities, including inspection reports and measurements.
Ensure proper handling, cleaning, and preservation of machined flange surfaces before installation.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of flange facing machines and tools.

Qualification Requirements:

High school, ITI, or Diploma in Mechanical / Machining or related field.
Minimum 3–7 years of experience in flange facing or field machining in oil & gas, refinery, or petrochemical industries.
Hands-on experience
Strong knowledge of:
Flange types (RF, RTJ, FF)
Machining tolerances and surface finishes
ASME flange standards
Ability to read and understand:
Isometric drawings
Flange data sheets
Engineering specifications
Familiarity with shutdown/turnaround maintenance activities (preferred in Saudi projects).
Knowledge of safety practices in hazardous areas (oil & gas plants).
Basic understanding of QA/QC inspection requirements and documentation.
Physically fit and able to work in field conditions, including offshore or remote sites.
